University Gardens - Essential external envelope works

Project Overview:
The project aimed to ensure that the University Gardens buildings were returned to a full wind and watertight condition. Works were carried out with a conservation focus to preserve historic nature of the original building fabric. The project works involved:
- Essential stonework repairs and repointing
- The overhaul of existing traditional sash and casement windows by draught proofing and returning to full operation
- The decoration of external timber finishes; windows, doors, replacement of defective roof finishing including slate, lead and felt and the overhaul of rainwater goods.
A similar project was completed to 5-13 Professors Square in 2017 which successfully returned these buildings to a wind and watertight condition and returned windows into an operational state.
